The Malta Institute of Management has published Responsibilities of officers of a limited liabilitycompany, a title co-authored and edited by Robert Attard in collaboration with a team of experts.

Focusing on personal liability of company directors, managers and secretaries, the book includes contributions by Andrew Borg Cardona, Kris Borg, David Fabri, Corinne Gatt, Nicolette Spiteri Bailey and Jotham Scerri-Diacono, and features a foreword by Andrew Muscat.

This book expands on the area of directors’ duties by comprehensively dealing with a subject of growing importance. The contributors possess a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the subject and successfully blend a practitioner’s approach with academic analysis.

Directors are loaded with responsibility; directors need to be aware of the existence, and extent, of their obligations at law. This publication is aimed not only at practitioners and academics, but also at directors who wish to be aware of their duties and potential liabilities according to law.

This is the third book which Robert Attard has produced for MIM. His Principles of Maltese Tax Law (MIM 2008) is already considered to be an authoritative text on tax law and the Maltese courts have referred to the book in a number of decisions.

He is a director, tax services, at Ernst and Young, and an editorial board member at Lexis-NexisButterworths (EU Tax Tracker Project). He has has served as visiting professor and speaker at various international universities and is also academic advisor within the Faculty of Laws of the University of Malta.
