A man was yesterday charged with attempting to seriously injure another man in an argument.

Kevin Gatt, 30, of Għaxaq, pleaded not guilty to slightly injuring Raymond Gatt with a knife on Wednesday in Għaxaq.

He also denied carrying a knife without a licence, assaulting Mr Gatt, breaching the peace, relapsing and committing a crime within the operative term of a previous judgment.

Magistrate Consuelo Herrera denied bail and remanded Mr Gatt in custody.
