Polish police said yesterday they had made 22 arrests around the country in their latest sweep against individuals suspected of possessing and spreading child pornography on the internet.

“Officers searched apartments, company headquarters and internet cafes,” the national police said in a statement.

“They detained 22 people. They also seized 23 computers and 20 hard disks, as well as 400 CDs and DVDs.”

The raids came after German police sent their Polish counterparts information about a file-sharing site used to exchange child pornography, the statement said.
