Zenyatta to retire to Kentucky

Zenyatta, the six-year-old mare whose narrow defeat in the Breeders’ Cup Classic this month was the lone blemish in a scintillating 19-1 racing career, will be retired in Kentucky next month. Zenyatta became a crossover sensation in America, profiled on the venerable TV news programme “60 Minutes” and hailed by Oprah Winfrey. She set a North American earnings record for female horses with more than $7.3 million.
