There are just two qualifying weeks remaining before the Middlesea League splits into its championship and relegation pools, and Ramis are now 14 points ahead in the standings after another big win against Royal Shock in week 16.

Globalair regained second place with a 6-2 win over PharmaVet, as okmalta.com lost all eight in their clash with Fina. There was also a 6-2 result for Turu’s Knights against Gladiators, while HSBC pulled off a full-point victory over The Clan.

Ramis are currently unstoppable, and racked up another high-rolling full-point victory, this time to the detriment of Royal Shock.

Again, Ramis claimed the team series of the week with their 2,580 total, making the confrontation seem more like a leisurely training session, as the three game series progressed, all in their favour: 737-779, 808-924, 742-877.

Against PharmaVet, Globalair opened the scoring by taking a close first game 765-747. They then consolidated their lead with a better 822-773 win. Their 67-pin advantage heading into game three was not an insurmountable one as PharmaVet set their sights on taking something from the clash, and actually won it 796-811, only enough for a two-point share on the night.

Globalair were able to advance to second place partly due to rivals okmalta.com being beaten 8-0 in a quite unusual match against Fina, unusual in that each team only fielded two players for the fixture, as was pre-agreed between the two due to Fina being unable to put together a full team.

Bowlers of the Week: Danial Swift (Fina, 790); Melissa Swift (PhramaVet, 580).

Standings: Ramis 108, Globalair 94, okmalta.com 90, Fina 84, Turu’s Knights 58, Royal Shock 54, PharmaVet 54, Gladiators 40, The Clan 28, HSBC 24.
