Jubilee Foods launch Gozo Ftira

Fans of the popular Gozitan Ftira can now enjoy this traditional delicacy at home as Jubilee Foods has launched two different versions of the snack

The Jubilee Foods Gozitan Ftajjar are prepared in the original way, using genuine bread dough to give it its distinctive taste and are available in two different fillings. The Gozo Tomato Ftira contains fresh tomatoes, capers, olives, potatoes, onions and anchovies while the Gozo Cheeslets Ftira is prepared with fresh Gozo Cheeslets and potatoes.

“These delicious half closed Gozo Ftajjar offer a warm and healthy meal during the colder months. They can be shared or enjoyed on your own, as an appetizer or as your meal. All ingredients used are genuine, artisan fayre – hence the delicious, home-made taste. The traditional Lampuki Pie will also remain available at all Jubilee Foods outlets until December,” said Ruth Camilleri, general manager of Jubilee Foods.

Besides offering a wide range of artisan foodstuffs, Jubilee Foods is also well-known for its seasonal specialties. Other seasonal products that are back to the shops include the Artisan Tomato Paste made with this summer’s Gozitan tomatoes, Sundried Tomatoes and a selection of naturally flavoured oils, from Basil Olive Oil to Black Truffle Olive Oil.

Products also include a selection of traditional Maltese and Gozitan dishes whose recipes have been handed down from generation to generation. The range also includes fruit conserves, carob syrup, Gozo & Comino honey, nougat, peppered cheeslets and hand-picked capers.

Ready to cook items on the list include the famous Nanna’s Ravjoli, the rice and pumpkin pie, steak and dark ale, and cheeslet and broad bean pies while the selection of desserts offer walnut and almond & marmalade tarts, and pumpkin cake. There is also a small range of Jubilee wines, Italian olive oils and aromatic coffee sourced from South America.

All Jubilee Foods branded products have been certified and the packaging carries extensive dietary and cooking information.
