The driver of this overturned Fiat Punto emerged unscathed from the accident in Fleur-de-Lys Road, Birkirkara, yesterday afternoon. Witnesses said the Fiat crashed into a parked Yugo and propelled it into a porch before dislodging a petrol pump.

Just imagine looking at the picture above, say for example one of your relatives, a son, a small daughter, a young girl with a baby in the pram, they would be all at risk, not to mention a gulf of fire ball lighten half the street with a massive explosion.. It makes me shiver to think about it, yet it could have happened and now it is time to rethink and move these petrol filling staions to another part of the country far away from a residential area, however as for the two drivers in question, thats a different story thats a job for the police to investigate, why one of the vehicles is on its back, could it have been a slipper road, bad tyres(VRT)??? or perhaps excessive speed in a residential area. Who Knows?

I agree, Petrol Stations on the main roads and so close to residential homes should be removed before disaster strikes.

Surely this is a case of reckless driving and over speeding. I cannot imagine what would have happened if there persons at station filling their cars. Here some questions come to my mind.
Was the driver tested for alcohol? What crimes is being charged for? Is it still the time for petrol stations in our main streets?

See, I think what happened is that the parked Yugo got in the way of the fiat. Usually it's a tree or curb or bad roads that causes the accident. It is never the drivers fault. Thank God this happened on a Sunday and there were no pedestrians present and miraculously there was no fire, or it could have been a lot worse. I hope the police will investigate and find out how all this happened. I could think of a few bad reasons why, but again that would be speculating.

I kinow one thing accidents do happen, most times due to unnessary speed however looking at the picture i would never ever invest in a property directly or close by a petrol filling station would you? thats playing with fire surely and asking for it.

In this case, the houses were there before the petrol station. It's a shame that danger has been brought literally to these residents' doorstep.
