When the rest of Europe is using entire fleets that run on natural gas, why are we settling for less?

Furthermore, the buses used in European cities are of much more reputable European brands. Where is our solidarity with EU makes in the midst of a crisis? Lastly, does the government not think that simply scrapping our current buses, which have been used for so long and are a tourism icon, is the best approach? Why not gut 20 of the most historically valuable and fit them with modern gas engines to be used on the routes through Sliema? Or am I speaking Chinese...?
