Ray Bondin, the ambassador and permanent delegate of Malta to Unesco, last week inaugurated the newly-restored Palazzo Cosentino in Ragusa, Sicily.

Palazzo Cosentino is one of 18 monuments listed as World Heritage by Unesco in Ragusa. The 18th century palazzo was restored to house exhibitions of contemporary art and part of it will later be used as a school for restoration.

During his speech, Dr Bondin spoke of the cultural heritage in Sicily that has received Unesco recognition and of the great amount of restoration projects that have been undertaken in recent years.
