World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Day will be marked on Wednesday with a series of talks on the disease at Mater Dei Hospital Physiotherapy Department, delivered by doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists and pharmacists.
COPD affects an estimated 44 million Europeans. It is a debilitating disease of the respiratory system, which may remain undiagnosed and it is estimated that it will become the leading cause of death by 2030.
