Great work. Please step up this initiative with random roadblocks in the early hours of Saturday & Sunday mornings, along the Coast Road, around Rabat and many ofthe roads on the outskirts of Paceville. Should be able to net a bag load if that is done including drink drivers. Also please step up the patrols and use sniffer dogs on boats coming ftom Italy/Siciliy and at the airport since this is where the majority enters the Maltese Islands. Cannabis is extremely dangerous and the experts agree with this: "Cannabis, like tobacco, has lots of chemical 'nasties', which, with long-term or heavy use, can cause lung disease and possibly cancer." http://www.nhs.uk/livewell/drugs/pages/cannabisdangers.aspx "It is folly to legalise a drug that is known to leave users with permanent damage to their ability to reason, argues Susan Greenfield, the distinguished expert on brain processes. http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2002/aug/18/drugs.drugsandalcohol

Waste of money!
The greatest harm associated with cannabis, and that which will probably ruin these youngsters' lives is PROSECUTION!
Scientifically proven, cannabis is way less harmful than tobacco and alcohol, so why all this fuss?
Arresting these 3 youngsters does not make Malta any safer or better. It only give a false impression to the taxpayers that the authorities are fighting against drugs, but it's always these petty users that get caught... never the big fish! Have you ever wondered why road-blocks happen at night? It's quite obvious that large drug hauls would not be moved during the night since that's the only time that one might be stopped at a road block. So the obvious conclusion is that road-blocks are held at night to catch the petty user and give the impression that something is being done.
I guess some people are just comfortable with the way things are.

It is true that maby it is less harmful drug than tabacco products... but did it mention in the long run? aggresiveness, nerviousness... didn't you hear stories of junkies from what they ALL started of! they all started from a joint (cannabis)!! so yes they should be stopping youngsters from playing arount with these petty drugs because from there they would move straight right on to harder drugs.. maby party drugs and will keep the habbit!! Also I agree 100% with what you stated about the road blocks it's about time that things start being done!
