Two fatal accidents were reported at places of work between July and September, one more than in the same quarter of the previous year.

The number of non-fatal accidents went up by 30, or 3.4 per cent, bringing the total to 915. Elementary occupations ac­counted for 47 per cent of the total, the biggest proportion.

The majority of accidents involving men occurred in the 25-34 age bracket and there were more accidents in the 15-24 age bracket among women.

Wounds and superficial injuries were the most common types of injury reported and there were also cases of burns, scalds and chemical burns.
