We read a lot about bus drivers and most of the time it is negative. On November 8, on my way back home from Floriana, I caught the 10.30 a.m. bus to Rabat.

At Blata l-Bajda some passengers were waiting to board the bus. The last passenger was having great difficulty in walking towards the bus. The driver noticed his difficulty, got out of his seat and went round to help him board, making sure he was seated before setting off again. There were quite a few tourists on board and a couple seated behind me commented on the kindness of the driver.

What an advert for Malta this driver was!

When I reached my destination as I was getting off I turned to thank the driver for his kind deed to this person with a disability. He blushed and said: “Thank you”.
