Four containers containing 971 boxes with more than 14,200 fake Hewlett-Packard, Canon and Lexmark ink cartridges and toners have been held by Customs over the past weeks.

The department said the items were hidden behind unmarked boxes. The four containers started their trip in the Far East.

Since the beginning of the year, Customs has held 44 containers that were in transit and which contained more than two million fake products.

It also took action regarding 42 cases which involved 17,544 items, including pills and glasses destined for the local market.
