The third 2010 Nestlé Fitness Outstanding Woman master class kicked off at the Zara outlet in Sliema, with a focus on getting the most out of fashion trends and adapting a particular look for every lifestyle.

Zara stylist Malcolm Borg led the one-on-one sessions with each of the three finalists – homeopath and mother of seven Bernardette Degaetano, restaurant manager and mother of two Melanie Xerri de Caro and company director and mother of two Antoinette Doneo – after studying their photos and their daily schedules to see how these affect the ladies’ choice of fashion style.

Malcolm explained that fashion trends can be remodelled to change our individual personalities, our lifestyles and figures and that we don’t have to follow what the fashion gurus dictate to the letter. After picking up a number of outfits for the finalists, with styles that range from casual to corporate wear to evening wear, he gave each lady the opportunity to put together her own outfit based on his advice.

As the three ladies ran around Zara in search of that perfect outfit, excitement was in the air to see the final result. Each finalist had one thing to say – that having their own fashion stylist to help them put together a dream outfit was one thing they had always wanted to experience! And of course, each finalist agreed that sticking to one outfit was extremely difficult...

After a quick twirl in the dressing room, Melanie, Antoinette and Bernardette were ready to be inspected by Malcolm’s expert eye to see if they passed his test – and pass they did, with each lady emerging radiant and looking like a million dollars.
