Bay Music Awards on December 12

The seventh edition of the Bay Music Awards will be held on December 12 at the Bay Arena, 8.97 Bay announced during a press launch at Paranga, St George’s Bay.

The BMAs reward local artistes for their contribution on the airwaves over the past 12 months in the following categories: best newcomer; best dance tune/remix; best song; best solo artist and best band.

Two new awards to be given this year are the Bay Bands Trophy and The Bay Presenters’ Choice Award, where 89.7 Bay will be choosing and awarding the best featured track.

Bay listeners can vote for the nominee they prefer in each category (except for he Bay Bands Trophy and the Bay Presenters’ Choice Award) by SMS. There is a mobile number for each category and people voting should send an SMS with the name of the singer/band. All those voting have the opportunity to win a number of fantastic prizes, including weekend breaks at the InterContinental Hotel in St Julians.

As in previous years, the awards will be given out by some of Malta’s top personalities.

The awards show will be subsequently aired on TVM on Christmas Day at 4 p.m. with another two repeats. CDs featuring the entire line-up of musical talent for the night will also be on sale.

Proceeds will go to the Bay Kids Foundation which this year will be helping Dar il-Kaptan. All the proceeds collected from last year’s event have contributed to buying a van for Dar Sagra Familja. Tickets are available from the Eden Cinemas Box Office in St Julians.
