Sir Mick Jagger described Keith Richards’s autobiography as nasty, the Rolling Stones guitarist said.

He also said the band is planning to tour next year and might record new material in December.

Mr Richards told BBC 6 Music his bandmates had given the recently published book, called Life, good reviews but Sir Mick had said it was “a bit bitchy here and there”.

Mr Richards describes the frontman as “unbearable” in the candid memoir. He also revealed his nicknames for Sir Mick are “Brenda” and “Your Majesty”.

The band was “ready to go out there again”, he said.

“Who said it should stop, and who said when?

“Only we will know when it comes to an end, with a crashing halt,” he said.

In the book, Mr Richards described his relationship with his songwriting partner, saying: “I used to love Mick, but I haven’t been to his dressing room in 20 years.”
