A man took a house key belonging to his girlfriend and gave it to his friends to burgle the house while the couple were out on a date was placed under probation for three months today.

Jordan Leli Brown, 18, of Safi, last week pleaded guilty to being an accomplice to a crime which took place between August 21/22 at Qrendi.

He also admitted to having stolen four shotguns, jewellery and cash to the detriment of the girl's family.

He also pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit a crime and handling stolen property.

The value of the stolen items was €17,000.
