117,631 benefit from energy allowance

Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said that 117,631 accounts benefitted from the energy allowance, the least of which was €55.

Abswering a question by Labour MP Charles Buhagiar, the minister said that 53,170 accounts received an allowance of less than €100 and there were 64,461 accounts which eceived more than €100.

Accounts which did not benefit from any allowance because they use more than 10,000 electricity unit were 3,892 and families which did not qualify because they eceived social benefits amounted to 24,994.
