The Euroguidance Centre Malta’s annual conference will be held at the Radisson Blue Resort, St Julian’s, on December 1 between 8 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. This year’s topic will be ‘The importance of guidance in Education, Training and Lifelong Learning’.

The keynote speaker of the conference, Richard Evans, is a council member of City and Guilds and a member of the Malta Chamber-Mcast Steering Committee.

Dr Evans will be highlighting the need for a clear guidance strategy when it comes to deciding on educational and training paths, and will share his personal views on the topic.

He will discuss education in relation to industry, with emphasis on presenting requirements that career guidance practitioners need to keep in mind when guiding prospective students on their education and training paths.

The target audience will be career guidance practitioners, career advisors and other stakeholders in the field of career guidance, who are invited to register for the conference by sending an e-mail to eg.eupa@gov.mt.

Apart from disclosing their name and occupation, participants are requested to choose from three workshops which will focus on particular guidance-related themes.

These are ‘Guiding students with learning difficulties’, ‘Guiding parents of students with learning difficulties’, and ‘Guiding students to identify one’s skills’.

Booking is free and will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Deadline for booking is November 26 at noon.

The conference is being funded with support from the European Commission, specifically from the National Resource Centre for Vocational Guidance.
