HSBC has awarded the third edition of the Merchant Acquiring Campaign prize to Lidl Malta.

The prize is assigned to the merchant that registers the highest increase in cards turnover during the campaign, according to the reference period specific to each category.

The supermarket chain ach-ieved the first position for the category for merchants subscribed to the HSBC EPOS service between June 15, 2009, and March 15, 2010, for Lidl Zejtun.

Lidl representatives were presented with the prize by HSBC head of commercial banking Richard Cottell during a ceremony at the Business Banking Centre in Qormi last week. The chain will be donating the prize to St Rita Home of the Ursuline Crèche in Tarxien.

Lidl Malta Ltd was established in April 2008 with three stores and has expanded its network to five with over 130 employees. It is part of the Schwarz Group, a multi-national group of companies, operating in the retail industry.
