The Maltapost van that was stolen during the evening collection in Rabat on Wednesday has been found.

Police sources said the van was found close to the Coca Cola Factory and the Turkish Cemetery in Marsa early this morning.

The van had been taken at around 8 p.m. in the vicinity of the Nigret roundabout. It had been full of mail items, including letters collected on the day after 7 p.m. from Ta’ Qali, Mtarfa, Għammieri, Kunċizzjoni, Għajn Qajjiet and Baħrija.

The sources said that the van was found with parts of it dismantled. The keys were found inside it. All the mail that had gone missing has been found.

Maltapost said in a statement that all mail will be processed today and is to be delivered tomorrow morning.

The company apologised for any inconvenience this may have caused and asked clients to contact its customer care on 2122 4421 or info@maltapost.com for enquiries.
