Mail van stolen from Rabat
A Maltapost van carrying mail was stolen on Wednesday during the evening collection, the company said yesterday.
The van was taken at around 8 p.m. in the vicinity of the Nigret roundabout, in Rabat. Besides a Maltapost logo on the bonnet, the back panel is completely covered by a wraparound MaltaPost advert.
The mail items in the van included letters collected on the day after 7 p.m. from Ta’ Qali, Mtarfa, Għemmieri, Kunċizzjoni, Għajn Qajjiet and Baħrija, the company said. The incident has been reported to the police and the Malta Communications Authority.
Maltapost apologised for what it described as an isolated incident and for any inconvenience which it may cause.
