Garbage protests

Riot policemen moving in to disperse protesters blocking garbage trucks on the road leading to the Taverna del Re dump site in Giugliano, yesterday. Three protesters and a police officer were injured near Naples yesterday, as the EU called on the Italian government to resolve the region’s garbage crisis “without delay.”
