Mail missing in stolen Maltapost van

A MaltaPost van has been stolen in Rabat, along with several postal articles which it was carrying, Maltapost said.

The van was stolen at about 8 p.m. yesterday at Nigret, Rabat during the evening mail collection process.

Apart from a MaltaPost logo on the bonnet, the van's back panel was completely covered by a wrap around MaltaPost advert.

The mail items included letters collected on the day after 7 p.m. from Ta’ Qali, Mtarfa, Ghemmieri, Kuncizzjoni, Ghajn Qajjiet and Bahrija. Last collection time was Tuesday at 7 p.m.

MaltaPost apologised for this 'isolated incident 'and any inconvenience which may have been caused.

Nigret Road is not the responsibilty of the local council, but it is the Central goverment's responsibility. Better to check facts first Sir!!!!

yes mr farrugia check the facts please!!! rabat local council made it a point to even waste money and put up notices on the street..... they rather waste their money on such notices than on telephone calls to nag government workers to do the jobs required or resurface to road themselves!

It seems that you know lots of things that were not mentioned in this article...like the driver being careless and leaving the keys in the ignition...

@ Jeremy

How else are you going to steal the van? Doubt he had the time to hotwire the van and the article doesn't say the driver was held up for the keys.

Stop standing up for people slacking off on their jobs.

totally agree with you, the driver must have left the keys in the van and possibly the engine still running as there is no way a car thief would have time to hot wire it and make his get-a-way as in the time i admit only a min or two to hot wire it that would give enough time for the postman to get a description of the thief

It looks you never saw a Maltapost employee collecting from these letterboxes. Sometimes they even leave the door open!!!

So many Sherlocks around....

My issue here is how quick people are to criticise without knowing the facts. It seemes that a pattern has evolved in which workers are constantly criticised...

Teachers, University Lecturers, dock workers, Airmalta workers....Strange pattern if you ask me.

Peter Borg, What I do is no concern of yours and anyway, what does raprezenting mean? Did you men representing?

Of course, if you start asking every person who comments what they do in their professional lives, then that would give you the right to ask me as well...Of course, that doesn't mean that you deserve a reply.
