Shameful warden tactics in Attard

It is utterly shameful how the Attard local council is allowing people to be given contraventions in the way they are in Triq il-Kbira.

I have sent three letters of complaint to the mayor but they were ignored and the manipulation goes on.

The mayor should resign immediately because the council is not working in the interests of the people who put him there but to bring in money from fines. It is ridiculous to have wardens hiding themselves away at the far end of the street, letting cars enter Triq il-Kbira during peak traffic,for the sole aim of dishing out contraventions.

If Triq il-Kbira must be closed off during school hours, this should be done by means of some sort of physical barrier and not by a sign hidden behind a tree invisible to motorists only for the cowboy warden to sneak out from behind a bush with his contravention gun and a sparkle in his eye at the thought of pouncing on his next innocent victim.

Wardens acting in this way are highly unprofessional and do not know their real purpose. After all, the name warden derives from the word for warning! They should first warn motorists and not give fines in aid of their monthly pay cheque. This manipulation should stop once and for all.
