Vodafone Malta chief executive officer Iñaki Berroeta is shortly to relocate to lead the group’s business in Romania.
He will remain on the board of directors of Vodafone Malta but a new chief executive officer for the local operation will be named soon.
Mr Berroeta joined Vodafone Malta as CEO in 2007. During his tenure, Vodafone Malta introduced a wide range of products and services that were first to the local market. The introduction of smartphones and latest technological devices to Malta and environmental initiatives such as e-billing and online top-up, and several social initiatives marked his term here.
“I am delighted to have been part of a great team at Vodafone Malta for the past three years and a half,” Mr Berroeta said. “I have had the privilege to work with a group of professionals who have made Vodafone Malta what it is today for the benefit of our customers and Maltese society.”
