A girl curiously places her finger on one of the buttons displayed on the police motorcycle she is sitting on and, with a bit of effort, she manages to press it. The siren goes off, much to her amusement and she tries her luck at other buttons as a police officer watches.

Meanwhile, young boys sit in police cars with a beaming smile on their faces while other children giggle as they ride a police horse during Traffic Awareness Day held in Swatar yesterday,

The fun day of activities started with Mass at St Ġorġ Preca church and included talks and activities for children and an exhibition of police vehicles.

The police dog section put up a show for the young participants who were evidently awed with the agility and dedication to duty of the four-legged officers.

The Traffic Awareness Day was organised by the Swatar administrative council together with the Birkirkara and Msida local councils.
