Dumping in a pristine Gozo locality

The other day I received an e-mail from a friend of mine, which was accompanied by a photograph/video, showing a truck dumping construction waste at Tal-Muxi, limits of Qala.

I just couldn’t believe my eyes that in such a pristine locality these things are allowed to happen.

Gozo is a small island and everybody knows each other. Therefore, it is very difficult to believe that when such barbaric acts come to light, the powers that be pretend they do not know anything about them. The same happened at Dwejra some time ago.

How come everybody seems to be powerless to stop these things from happening? Gozo is being projected as an eco-island. How is it then that no proper surveillance is carried out to catch such culprits and make them pay?
