A man was this morning jailed for five months by Magistrate Edwina Grima after he admitted to harassing a couple, threatening them with violence, swearing in public, assaulting two policemen and relapsing.

Christopher Micallef, 42, of Manikata, who was being held in prison under preventive arrest, also pleaded guilty, in front of Magistrate Doreen Clarke, to stealing and causing damage, amounting to €16,048, to the Ghajn Znuber pumping station in Manikata.

Magistrate Clarke will deliver judgement in December
