Animal awareness day

St Catherine’s High School, Pembroke, recently held its animal awareness day, during which students were invited to bring their pets to school.

All the animals brought to the school were blessed by Fr Frankie Cini. There were presentations on animal welfare, abandoned animals, rescue stations and endangered species.

A book stall was also set up and colourful charts prepared by students were displayed in each classroom. Representatives from the Malta Guide Dog Foundation and the Stray Animals Support Group spoketo upper junior students about the work of their organisation.
