John’s Group subsidiary Sunrays Travel will be rebranded as Liberty International Malta Limited tomorrow.

The move follows a partnership between Sunrays Travel and Liberty International Tourism Group that will enable Liberty International to promote Malta throughout its network of 72 companies worldwide. Forty-two of these firms are destination management companies.

Established 19 years ago in Prague Czech Repblic, by Mario Enzesberger, an Austrian citizen, Liberty International has grown into a worldwide tourism group, providing a wide range of services with a customer-oriented approach.

Apart from the standard portfolio of tourism services, Liberty International has developed expertise in incentives and congresses, outdoor management training, spas, African safaris, sports and events, hotels and transportation, and will be promoting Malta as a destination.

Executives from Liberty International Malta Ltd will be holding a presentation on Malta at Liberty’s annual conference this week in Berlin.

Malta will be gaining exposure at the Liberty International stand in upcoming travel fairs including the World Travel Market in London and the EIBTM in Barcelona.

Chris Farrugia, CEO of John’s Group, said the new subsidiary will further enhance the group’s strategy to tap international markets and increase business through strategic initiatives in Malta and abroad.

Liberty International employs more than 500 professionals ready to create programmes for groups of all sizes. Each employee is supposed to be fluent in at least two languages, have extensive experience in tourism and be an expert in multiple destinations.

Liberty International Malta Ltd will be operating from the former Sunrays Travel office in Ħamrun.
