Risk and Reinsurance Solutions SA is to become a 33 per cent shareholder in JLT Insurance Management Malta, following approval by the Malta Financial Services Authority.

2RS, Europe’s third largest captive management company, is a subsidiary of Siaci Saint Honoré (Groupe Edmond de Rothschild), the French broker.

JLT Insurance Management Malta is a joint venture between JLT Insurance Management (Guernsey) Limited and Elmo Insurance Limited.

JLT Insurance Management executive chairman Nick Wild said the inclusion of 2RS as a shareholder fit with the company’s strategy to expand its client base in the European market. 2RS will considerably strengthen the offering of the Malta operation.

“We have had a successful strategic alliance with 2RS for some time now and all parties felt this was the right time to move this co-operation to the next level,” added Mr Wild.

JLT Insurance Management Ltd helps corporations define and maximise the benefit of captive insurance and alternative risk transfer strategies. The group has operations in Barbados, Bermuda, Guernsey, Malta and Singapore and is a division of the Jardine Lloyd Thompson group.
