Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones said she was finding solace in golf as her husband, acting legend Michael Douglas, battles throat cancer.
The Welsh-born actress put a brave face on Mr Douglas’ illness as she teed off at the pro-celebrity Star Trophy golf tournament in China, saying her appearance was “business as usual in our family”.
Mrs Zeta-Jones, 41, won a Tony award in June for her performance in the Broadway musical comedy A Little Night Music and said she was now working on her own one-woman show.
News of Mr Douglas’s cancer came to light in August following a family holiday, and a month later it emerged it was more serious than first thought.
Mrs Zeta-Jones told a US magazine in September she was “furious” that doctors failed to spot it sooner, but now said she was finding golf a big help.
“There’s nothing better than just having nothing else to focus on than a still white ball, and nobody’s looking,” she said.
