Two reports against BirdLife has been filed with the Commissioner of Police against BirdLife Malta (BLM) and their campaigns coordinator Geoffrey Saliba by the Hunters’ Federation (FKNK).

The first report refers to a media release that Mr Saliba issued accusing the FKNK of making false statements.

The second relates to another BirdLife Malta media release by Mr Saliba, issued on October 20. In this statement, Mr Saliba incorrectly stated that FKNK council member David Briffa was convicted in court of assaulting and/or causing injuries to a CABS German representative by ‘hitting’ him, when in fact Mr Briffa was acquitted of such charges.

The FKNK said that earlier this month the Commissioner of Data Protection was asked by the FKNK to investigate whether Mr Briffa’s data protection rights had been violated by BLM’s and CABS’ theatrics at Miżieb on September 20.

FKNK said that it will instigate further legal action against BLM, CABS, Mr Saliba and any other person who may violate any of its rights or those of its members at law.
