A 19-year-old man admitted in court to having defiled a 13-year-old girl, who was his friend.

The man, who is not being named to protect the identity of the girl, admitted in court to having participated in sexual acts with the girl in the last few months.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke deferred the case for judgment to next month. The accused was granted bail but warned not to approach the girl or her family.

In the case that she or her family speak to him, he is to inform the Police Inspector Louise Calleja.
