The Malta Union of Teachers has ordered supply LSAs and supply teachers with more than four years of service as well as kindergarten assistance, who had been successful in the KGII interview but were still not appointed, to strike for one hour on November 10.

The union said it was ordered the strike after there was no reaction to its declaration of an industrial dispute on capacity building, in spite of its appeals for the situation to be dealt with urgently.

The union said it seemed there was a lack of agreement between the Education and Finance ministers and as the situation had now been dragging for a long time, the union was left with no alternative but to order industrial action.
