GWU disappointed by the Budget
The General Workers Union said today that it was disappointed that the Budget did not meet the people’s expectations.
Union General Secretary Tony Zarb told timesofmalta.com that after the Budget, the people would still continue to shoulder the burdens imposed on it by the government.
He regretted that the Finance Minister had ignored proposals to ease the burden, made by the GWU.
On the cost of living increase, Mr Zarb the cost of living increase, although based on the existing mechanism, was inadequate for the people’s needs.
He said the GWU Council would issue its official position on Thursday.

Of course what should we expect from GWU? Tony Zarb should have been very very happy that the Govt is doing all it can to protect people's jobs. After all this should be top priority for any workers' union.
What would the GWU say if we had the same budget of the UK and other EU countries?
Thank God we have excellent people governing our country. Well done, we are keeping our relatively good standard of living intact unlike UK, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc etc

This is a copy paste exercise of the Press Release that GWU issues every year......except when Labour is in Government
