• Msida youths are organising a car wash in aid of the Msida youth centre. The activity is being held near the workers’ monument in front of Msida police station today from 9 a.m. till noon.
• A bazaar is being held at Sala Papa Wojtyla in Oratorju Marija Immakulata, Mosta, between tomorrow and Friday from 9 till 11.30 a.m. and from 4.30 till 6 p.m.
• The Order of the Knights of Malta are holding the next lecture in the ‘Maltese Legacy of the Order’ series. The lecture will be delivered by Marquis Nicholas De Piro at Casa Lanfreducci (behind the Opera House), Valletta, tomorrow at 6 p.m., and will be entitled ‘Furnishings from the knights and their influence on Maltese taste’.
• The Centre of Ignatian Spirituality is organising a series of activities for people who wish to spend some time of silent prayer once every two weeks, starting this Wednesday, between 8 and 9.30 p.m., until June 2011, at Mount St Joseph Retreat House, Mosta. Led by Fr Pierre Grech Marguerat, SJ, and Fr Reno Grech, SJ, the activities will be based on the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius, and will consist of a reading of a bible text, quiet time for personal prayer, and end with sharing among those present.

• The next St Ġorġ Preca group meeting will be held at the MUSEUM headquarters, Blata l-Bajda, on Friday at 6.30 p.m. Young couples and mature adults are especially invited.
• The Malta Hospice Movement will be celebrating World Hospice and Palliative Care Day through a concert to be held at St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta, on Friday at 7.30 p.m. The Joy Gospel Singers will perform their repertoire of Gospel Music. Entrance is free but a donation is being solicited.
• A 50-hour fund-raising marathon in aid of the children residing in the Ursoline creche in Sliema will be held at the Għaqda Melita Banda San Ġużepp from November 5 to 7.

• Australian Jesuit Fr Richard Leonard, SJ, will deliver two talks at Mount St Joseph retreat house, Mosta. The first, entitled ‘How can Catholics live in a media-saturated culture?’ will take place on November 5 at 7 p.m. On November 6, between 8.30 a.m. and 5 p.m., he will deliver a series of three talks entitled ‘The world in our face – How do people of faith download the best and leave the rest?’.
