Red Lion Foods of the UK have appointed Xewkija’s Magro Brothers to produce their ketchup under the Red Lion brand, a popular, mainstream product consumed by millions of British consumers.
Red Lion has a range of food products available in leading UK supermarkets. It embraces a noble business philosophy, donating all profits from sales to charity, particularly to families of ex-servicemen.
Magro Brothers’ managing director John Magro and general manager Christian Magro attended the launch ceremony at the Tower of London where guests included several representatives from institutions with military connections, such as the British Legion and the Poppy Legion. Owners and senior directors of major supermarket chains, such as Tesco, Coop and Sainsbury, pledged their commitment to ardently promote sales for this honorable project.
Red Lion Foods managing director Andrew Gidden explained that his choice of Malta and Magro Brothers did not come about by chance: the island’s history and links with the British Empire during the wars still had sentimental value for many British citizens.
Mr Magro admitted this new venture was of utmost importance to his company. For over 70 years, Magro Brothers has always had strong mutual business relationships, for their products, with the English market.
