The Marsaxlokk local council has warned it will be removing all bulky objects, such as boat trailers, left by the roadside if these are not claimed and moved to a suitable location soon.

It is planning to put up notices on the unsightly objects giving their owners the chance to claim them. If the objects are not moved within a week they would be taken to a scrap yard by a contractor. The owners would then be given another week to claim the objects upon payment of fees due to the contractor.

“The council is warning residents to ensure they have place to store their bulky objects prior to moving them. It cannot permit roads to be used for storing such objects to the detriment of Marsaxlokk’s environment and other people,” the council said.
