The Nethercutt Museum in California, US showcases more than 130 of the world’s greatest antique, vintage, classic and special interest automobiles.

Within the museum itself is a comprehensive research facility considered one of the top 10 automotive libraries in the world. The archival materials on American and European marques predate the 20th century. Much of it is the legacy of the revered Wellington Everett Miller, the late automotive coach designer and engineer, who gathered this data for more than 70 years.

An interesting feature in the museum is a number of radiator caps of certain classic cars like those of a 1932 Cadillac, 452B, Deluxe/Sport Phaeton, a 1914 Knox, 46-Little Six/Touring, a 1932 Chevrolet, Confederate Series, BA/Deluxe Coupe, a 1931 Daimler, 50, Double Six/Royal Limousine, a 1926 Pierce-Arrow, Model Series 33, Runabout and 1928 Gardner, Eight-in-Line/85, Sport Sedan.

Materials housed in the museum library include a database on The Nethercutt Collection, containing technical manuals, promotional material and sales literature from throughout the automotive age, along with biographies of great motoring engineers.

Complete runs of automotive trade journals abound, along with rare owner’s manuals, plans and engineering documents of automobile coachbuilders dating from 1900 to 1940.

The library facility is open to the public, with some restrictions on access to the research and historical stack material. There is a research service .
