(Adds PN's statement)
The Nationalist Party has denied claims by the Forum Zghazagh Laburisti that the Prime Minister described Labourites as a disease during a radio programme.
The PN said in a statement that when the Prime MInister was speaking on party policies, he said that the Labour Party implemented a policy that had been damaging for the country, and had given the people bad advice when they had to make important choices.
The FZL this morning condemned what it described as “insensitive and shameful” comments by Dr Gonzi. It accused Dr Gonzi of describing Labourites as a disease and of saying that whatever the Labour Party did in history was bad.
Such comments, the FZL said, were aimed at sowing hatred and division and contrasted greatly to the Labour leader’s appeal for unity and inclusivity.
The Prime Minister had the duty to unite all forces especially during difficult times and not instigate hatred, the FZL said.
The PN said this evening that there were people who were still suffering the consequencies of Labour's bad policies on education, for example and what the Prime Minister had said that such bad policies had greatly harmed the country.
