Three Premier League players have received a one-match ban after seeing red in the latest round of top-flight games.

Ħamrun Spartans will be without Martin Hrubsa and Steve Bonnici for their difficult match against Hibs on Sunday.

Czech defender Hrubsa has been suspended after being dismissed for two yellow cards inside the opening 33 minutes of the Spartans’ cagey encounter with Floriana.

Bonnici was given a straight red card by referee Kevin Azzopardi who ruled that the Spartans defender had tripped Ivan Woods in the penalty box 10 minutes into the second half. Floriana converted the penalty to grind out a 2-1 victory.

Beppe Muscat was sent off 14 minutes into the second half of Sliema’s match against Vittoriosa Stars after he collected two yellow cards. The one-match ban rules Muscat out of Sliema’s game against Qormi on Monday.
