Young drummer fined for disturbing neighbours

A young drummer and his father have been fined €50 for having disturbed the neighbours, particularly a sick boy.

The 17-year-old was fined for playing the drums at his home in Rabat, disturbing the neighbours, particularly a boy who cannot tolerate loud noises.

A court expert established that the noise was excessive, despite some sound abatement measures.

The father, Philip Schembri, was fined for having allowed his son to play the drums and create excessive noise.

The court ordered the boy not to continue to play the drums at home.
