Finance Minister Tonio Fenech told Parliament that since the beginning of the year Malta Enterprise executive chairman Alan Camilleri had spent €23,920 on travel, €3,044 on hospitality and €5,531 on mobile telephone calls.

Mr Camilleri was appointed executive chairman of Malta Enterprise in February last year.

Mr Fenech, who was answering a question by Gino Cauchi (PL), also referred him to an answer given four months ago to Labour MP Helena Dalli, in which he had said that Mr Camilleri has an annual salary of €70,000 together with a health insurance cover, mobile telephone, internet and hospitality allowances. His official car is hired at a cost of €575.96 per month.

Mr Fenech added that between June 2009 and June this year, a total of €3,748.38 had been spent on hospitality and €40,007 on travel.
