Ukraine’s WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko said that he wanted to knock out WBA champion David Haye and claim the only title belt missing from his family’s collection.

The 39-year-old, who easily retained his title on points on Saturday over American opponent Shannon Briggs, and his younger brother Vladimir hold every title in the division apart from the one owned by Britain’s Haye.

But Vitali is keen to make it a full house.

“I would like to knock out Haye so that we can claim the only belt missing from the family’s collection,” said Vitali, who along with his brother promised their mother they would never fight each other.

Klitschko, whose record stands at 41 victories, including 38 by knockout, and just two defeats, said he was not ready yet to devote himself to his planned political career in Ukraine.

“There is no-one in the world apart from my brother who can beat me, I am the strongest,” he said.

His next title defence should be against either Cuba’s Odlanier Solis or American Ray Austin, who fight each other in December for the right to become the official challenger.

Klitschko’s agent, though, said that they had made a generous offer to the Haye camp to try and convince him to step into the ring.

“We proposed that each fighter would receive 50 per cent of the rights,” said Bernd Bonte.

Haye, who will fight compatriot Audley Harrison on November 13 in the second defence of his title which he took last November, was meant to have fought Vladimir in June 2009 but pulled out after suffering a mystery injury in training.
