Nine vacant directors’ posts

There are nine vacant directors’ posts at the Rural Affairs Ministry, with the longest-standing, that of Director Veterinary Regulation, dating back to March 2002.

Answering a question by Michael Falzon (PL), Minister George Pullicino said that the posts of Director of Agriculture and that of Director of Parks and Afforestation had been vacant since 2008. Posts which would become vacant this year were those of Director General (Strategy and Support), Director Financial Management, Director Animal Welfare, Promotion and Services and Director Maintenance. The Director General Cleaning and Maintenance had reached retirement age last November and his term of office had been extended by a year.
