Eight cases of Scabies treated at Mt Carmel Hospital

Eight patients have been discharged after being treated for scabies at Mt Carmel Hospital, Health Minister Joseph Cassar said in Parliament.

Labour MP Anthony Agius Decelis asked the minister whether it was true or nor that scabies had been found at Mt Carmel. He also asked how may cases had been reported and what action had been taken about them.

Dr Cassar said there had originally been eight cases of scabies and all the patients have now been released. Doctors and infection control nurses took the necessary precautions for the situation to be controlled.
