One has to be there to believe it. Hail struck Mellieha with a vengeance..trees lost limbs. all plants outside front gardens and yards were denuded of their leaves or had their leaves punctured ...In front of my garage I had about seven inches of accumulated hail which i had to shovel to a safe place. My internal shaft had about 15inches of accumulated hail and it blocked the passage of water from the roof to my well and road outside. I only remember such furry around 1999 when hail covered Zebbug by pass and remained along the central strip for more then three days. As for the size of hail I also remember 1949 0r 1948 when I was still a young boy living at Paola when it hailed three inches size hail and most balcony window panes where shattered. God help us if this is to be the future whether and not yet winter.

I was bitten while I was at work ! So the next day I applied Mosquito and Insect repellent and it seemed to have done the trick.

I deem myself lucky to have escaped unscanted last Saturday as I was caught up in that storm in my little Kenura between the points of l-ahrax and selmun. I had to row through rain and hail all the way back. However what preoccupied me most were the lightning and thunder which surrounded me all the way in. Nista nodda b"wahda. Thanks God.

Carmel,
Do you realise that you can check accurate weather forecasts online? What you did is not simply a walk in the park but canoeing in very bad weather where you risked capsizing, drifting away, struck in the head by thick hail and worst of all struck by lightning.
